Originating from Auckland, New Zealand, where the national rugby team the All Blacks are current World Champions 2011 & 2015. Jason arrived in San Antonio, Texas in 2007.  After contacting a local rugby club in town, he discovered a need for youth rugby.  With the help of parents and club members, he developed a multi-high school team consisting of 40 kids from 7 different high schools around San Antonio.  Over the next two seasons, this team grew to include a Multi-College team.

Unfortunately,
Jason left in May 2009 due to his immigration visa expiring. He returned to New Zealand to attend the International Rugby Academy of New Zealand (IRANZ), graduating from the High Performance Coaching course conducted by former All Blacks and professional international coaches from around the world.

With all his newly acquired knowledge, he relocated to London, England in 2010, and was contracted to coach for two seasons, helping guide the Crawley RFC 1st XV team to their first ever county division 1 championship. After returning to San Antonio in March 2013, he assisted the coaching staff at Alamo City Rugby Club. Now that Jason has settled down to live here permanently he has set the goal of again building a youth program. In Febuary 2015 Jason attended the Serevi 7's coaching course in Las Vegas.

Jason has a plan to develop youth teams ranging from Pre -K (Mini's) to U19 for boys and girls in San Antonio, he believes that a strong youth program will be a vital part of achieving long term goals of one day having a Division 1 men’s and women's team in San Antonio. He will be focusing on up skilling all players on modern techniques allowing the team to be better decision makers on and off the field.  He is looking forward to growing the sport of rugby throughout San Antonio, Texas and the US.

Melinda Stone

Born and raised in South Texas, Melinda considers herself a local after spending the last twenty plus years in the San Antonio area.  She has held positions in a variety of fields, including retail sales, health insurance, foodservice management, real estate, and hospitality.  She has volunteered for service organizations her whole life, beginning with Vacation Bible Schools at her local church when she was a teen.

As an adult, Melinda joined Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio and volunteered with their children's ministry for several years.  She earned her first bachelor's in English literature in 2001 at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  A new career offered her the opportunity to serve on the leadership board of Hearts and Hands, a 501c3 charity comprised largely of people from the real estate community and serving the public.  When she retired from real estate, she satisfied her charity bug by joining the Charity Planning Committee at her office, gaining valuable fundraising and event planning experience.  In 2013, Melinda returned to the University of Texas at San Antonio to pursue her second bachelor's degree, Education with a minor in ESL.  She met Coach Liddle and was introduced to rugby the same year.  She gravitated toward the community spirit and family-like relationships created within the team, and she began volunteering for Alamo City Rugby Football Club.  In 2014, she started her first year as a mentor and ESL tutor for Communities in Schools.

She looks forward to serving the team and the community by offering free tutoring to SALT team members and supporting the SALT team in its endeavors to create and foster leaders in our community.
